Busting Ball – Upcoming Game

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted the short article and footage covering my first public game made available on the Play Store, called Space Wars. You can check that post out here: https://brainwavecreations.com/space-wars-published-on-play-store/

I want to make another brief post about the next upcoming game I’ve been working on for release on the Play Store. It’s your classic bat & ball type of game, where you break different types of blocks by bouncing a ball around the gameplay area using a bat at the bottom of the screen. There are usually various powerups and more that can be collected along the way to help complete each level. The very first game like this that I can remember, was called “Arkanoid” on the old 8-bit consoles.

There have been many different takes on this gameplay style. For this first block breaking game, I’ve kept things pretty standard. But, I have some various ideas for future games that are similar as well. Including a block breaking game where the bat moves around in a circular motion. Which would force the player to protect all sides of the play area. Rather than having “walls” and a “ceiling” to protect the ball from leaving the area. Another idea would be to start with one bat on the bottom. Then, slowly start introducing bats on the sides and top, as the difficulty and progression in the game ramp up over time.

Anyways, onto the good stuff. Here’s a short two minute gameplay clip of the gameplay. All I have left to do on this one, is get the interstitial ads working between level selection. Then test, and publish to the Google Play Store.

Thanks so much for your time reading this post, and taking an interest in the website, and games I’ve been working on. Below are a couple screenshots of the game as well :). Enjoy, and I hope you all are having a fantastic day/week/year!
